3/1/2023 0 Comments Does idisplay have lagHere is vesas website for certified DP cables just in case anyone wants to know what are the best ones to get. Īnd here is the DP Protocol PDF explaining in detail that it does. If it was related to prerendered frames then my settings in radeon mod would have changed the flip queue size to 2 like shown below.Īlso here's an old thread where amd matt answers what pre emphasis does in simple terms. As for Pre-emphasis these are used by the output standard to attempt to compensate for noise/corruption whilst the signal is in transit. but this seems to have fixed it for me.Thanks. I used to get some signal loss issues in warframe when i hit more that 120hz and im using accell DP cables recommended by AMD robbert on some old threads. My monitor had a seizure when i applied them but after a restart it seems more stable now. I do feel a slight difference in input lag reduction. I didn't even know these options were there lol. If not I'm out of luck because BenQ will not upload the updated drivers/firmware.Įdit: If anyone has BenQ or Zowie xl2730z firmwares and want to share pls tell me. I'm going to try the BenQ display pilot to see if I can edit it from there. However I still believe it is on even if I disable it in gaming profiles and display tab, if I go to my monitor's infomation tab free sync is always on. I still feel my monitor the BenQ xl2730z is still suffering from some firmware problems because only with DP does it enable adaptive sync. Now this doesn't eliminate the input lag for me entirely. I suppose the PreEmphasis should be the equivalent of the prerendered frames for the Nvidia Gpus?" Just tried to play with both of them at 2 and viola, finally, this monitor started to run properly. Both have a minimum value of 0 and max of 2. There I have 2 options: "Adjust Voltage Swing" and "Adjust PreEmphasis". Just minutes ago I found out a new tab in my GPU software under Display -> specs -> Override. "Anyway, I have a great news for me and you all. Then I came across this thread while researching what voltage swing and preemphesis was. Some shots were immediate, almost as low latency as HDMI but enough so that I could play with hitscan characters again. Now with this tweak improved my monitor stuttering and heaviness by alot. My monitor's firmware just isn't good enough to support both AMA and adaptive sync and BenQ won't upload the updates. Adaptive sync/freesync is too taxing(on by default). I haven't had a chance to play with it yet (I already downloaded the software but haven't received my iPad. Display port acts differently than HDMI and just doesn't push the frames as fast so it needs the preemphesis. In this case, iDisplay transforms your iPad or iPhone into a second monitor for your Mac. It's a similar factory overclock and needed more volt swing whatever that is. There's several possible factors for why it produced input lag. I am a very competitive gamer and I can tell the difference in input lags and display port had the worse. "I have a BenQ XL2730z and I cannot fathom why I had piss poor performance when I switched from 120hz HDMI to 144hz Display Port.
