Not sure why this was the case, but even my laptops which were in the same room as the WiFi router would not connect to the 5GHz band. The stream was still going on the Chromecast, but I could not disconnect with my phone via Netflix or through the Home app. I just today got a Chromecast 3rd gen and I've been battling with it all day. Note: If the status light blinks orange, it means the controller can't connect to Wi-Fi. Rather than rewriting a library to interface with Google Chromecast devices in Node (the spec is kind of complicated and unsupported by Google), it aims to use the popular and well-maintained pychromecast.I would use a native Node library, but none look anywhere near. ![]() Connect the mobile device and your TV to the same network.
